Introduction to the WIDA English Language Development Standards

What will you learn?

In this course, we will dive into the standards released from WIDA in 2020. Educators will develop a greater understanding of the standards by examining the big ideas, standard statements, key language uses, language expectations, proficiency level descriptors, grade-level clusters, and incorporation into all classrooms. By learning more about the standards, educators will be positioned to skillfully support English language learners in the classroom.

Identify the big ideas and examine the organization of the WIDA standards framework to develop a deeper understanding of the standards.
