This course will cover the required competencies for Pre-K special educators as outlined by Pennsylvania Department of Education. Particular emphasis will be placed on those competencies which are most relevant to early childhood educators including:

Review information regarding seven PA state structured literacy competencies including: essential principles and practices, phonological and phonemic awareness, phonics and word recognition, fluency, vocabulary, listening and reading comprehension, and written expression.
